Fabric used: Jersey. This pattern is designed for knit fabrics (jersey, ponte).
How is the sizing? Very good, I didn’t need any adjustments. The pattern comes in size XXS-XL (AUS sizing, bust 81cm to 106cm).
How clear are the instructions? Nice and clear. This dress is a quick make and I like the way the neckline is finished.
Is it worth buying? Absolutely! The price is 14AUD ( cca 7.50GBP, 8.40 EUR, 9.50USD ). It comes with two dress lengths, a top and four sleeve lengths (short, elbow, three quarter and full). I think the fit around the shoulders is excellent.
I have a PDF version of this pattern, there are 42 pages to print; seam allowances are included. I have a love-hate relationship with PDF patterns – I hate taping them together but I love the instant gratification. I’m sure I’m not the only one.
For my version I chose a stripy fabric in pink…yes, I’m basically copying the pattern cover. The construction was quick and easy, you only slow down for the neckline. All you’re doing is folding the overlocked edge of the neckline and stitching it down. The back has a facing which is stitched down. I used a stretch twin needle.
The set in sleeves are sewn in flat, which is the quickies and easiest method. Only the shoulder seams are sewn together, the sleeve is attached flat.
I really like the fit. It skims over your shoulder and bust, not too oversized. This is the kind of garment you’ll wear until it falls apart and can’t be repaired. I had some leftover fabric and made a little matching dress for Sienna.
I can’t believe I haven’t made another one yet but with so many new patterns coming out it’s difficult to stay focused.
